The following instructions are furnished by Concord Industries® as is and without any kind of warranties either expressed or implied on behalf of Heritage Flag & Supply. They are furnished as a general guideline for installation of your Concord Industries® flagpole. Please call for pricing and availability.

  1. Dig foundation hole as detailed in the Ground Sleeve Installation Instructions. Set sleeve into hole so that top of tube is 2" above grade. Plumb sleeve vertically, and brace so that it will not move during pour. Pour concrete, and trowel to desired finish. Keep inside of sleeve dry, cover sleeve opening if pole has not been delivered.

  2. Lay pole on sawhorses, and remove wrappings from top and bottom of pole, and from around access door. The remainder of the wrappings may be left on for protection during the set.

  3. Thread the loose end of the rope halyard assembly through the truck pulley, and through the smaller pulley inside the truck. Pull the rope through, and drop down inside pole from the top. Taking care not to pinch the rope, place truck on pole top, align pulley with the access door, and fasten truck to pole by tightening the set-screws. (NOTE: If optional revolving truck has been supplied, the halyard will be pre-strung at the factory. Stuff the loose end into the pole top, and screw the truck spindle in tightly, using a wrench to tighten.)

  4. Screw the threaded ball-stem into top of truck (using "Lock-tite" or similar stud and bearing cement, if available) until stem will no longer turn. Use wrench to tighten jam-nut against truck.

  5. Remove door from access hole with key supplied, and fish the halyard down inside the pole. Thread the rope-end through the cam-cleat, and tie a knot in end of rope below the cleat to prevent it from pulling back through.

  6. Take other end of rope, with counterweight attached, and undo the Quick-link. Remove one end of the beaded retainer ring from the Quick-link, run ring around the pole, and re-attach. Re-tighten the nut on the Quick-link, and tape the entire assembly temporarily to the wrapping above the access door. Slip the flash collar on the bottom of the pole, and temporarily tape to the wrappings above the tar-line, out of the way during erection.

  7. Pick up pole and set into the sleeve, turning pole so that truck and access door face in the desired direction. Plumb pole vertically. Place wood wedges (not furnished) between pole and sleeve to keep pole from shifting during set. Tamp dry sand between pole and sleeve, leaving a 1" to 2" void at top for sealer. Remove wedges, fill void with waterproof cement or sealant. Slip collar down pole, and caulk into place on concrete. Remove remainder of wrappings from pole.

  8. Attach flagsnaps to halyard just above counterweight by slipping a loop of halyard through the swivel-eye and over the snap, then pulling halyard taut. Slide flagsnaps along rope to fit the size flag being flown. Attach flag, and with top flagsnaps still within reach, re-tie knot in end of rope just below the cam-cleat, cutting off any excess rope. Fuse cut end of rope with a match to prevent fraying. Pull flag to peak, secure halyard behind cam of cleat, and fit access door into opening, locking it in place. Turn over key to owner.
